Case summary
At 500,000 pieces per year, this is our highest-volume single part. The 65Mn spring steel shim requires fine blanking for a clean 90° edge (no secondary deburring), followed by oil-quench tempering to achieve a hardness of HRC 45–50. The progressive die was built in 22 days; we currently run two presses dedicated to this part on a 24/5 schedule. Scrap rate is under 0.3%. Every batch is tested for hardness and dimensional flatness before shipment.
